Rhubarb and Custard
The sweet tooth genius behind the world renowned Rhubarb and Custard, Mr Bond, aka 'Grandpa' Bond, oversaw the manufacture till his death in the 1960s. The sweets have been produced by several different manufacturers, but each has remained faithful to the original recipe. Today 'Bonds' is a brand name owned by Penguin Confectionery.
The recipe and process are still followed according to tradition, even if some of the machinery is somewhat updated. Big strips of this two-tone sweet are stretched, whilst hot, fed into a machine which stretches it even more before it's chopped into sweetie sizes.
This amazingly sweet is a firm favourite throughout the generations. We're proud to supply Rhubarb and Custard and many variations based on this classic.

Post & Package: Here at Sweet Things Direct we charge only appropriate post & package rates. For example, delivery rates for the UK start at just £1.60 with the maximum charge for UK orders up to 25kgs being just £5.99. We are currently offering FREE delivery on all orders over £50 to a mainland UK address.
